How Much More Fuel of Blood Still Needed?

It is obvious now that a peaceful and honorable life has gone out of our reach as a Muslim community in this world. Our vulnerability is an open fact now. The ideological and moral and also the walls of national unity and discipline raised for our protection have been leveled and our house compound is a freeway, mostly used by all those whom we regard mistrustful and malicious. Our helplessness has reached such an extent that we can’t stop them from crossing our house. What led us to this miserable condition is to be found out.

Remoteness of the rulers from the people of the Muslim countries has always been at a great increase. The political leadership and ruling elites, themselves badly devoid of self-respect and sense of honor (ghairat) have plunged entire nation into humiliating circumstances. Due to their cowardliness and lack of lofty aims and courage they are unable to face the challenges. In the face of critical situation they show to be sheepish. Hoping their rectitude and constancy and a bold stand against the forces inimical to our existence as an Ummah is only a self deception. They have unconditionally surrendered to the enemies of the Muslim Ummah.

Avarice, the mother of many evils, is the greatest motive for their lust for power. The power, in the nations having sense of honor (ghairat) an integral part of their national character, thought to be a source of serving and devotion to the nation, is here a means for making maximum fortunes not for themselves but for their coming generations is the greatest motive for gaining power. Unfortunately, in most of the Muslim countries the rulers remain in power only with the boosting of the foreign powers. Their utmost effort is to come in and survive in the power, appeasing their masters. They seek guarantees for extension of their rule from the big powers and get exploited at the cost of the national interests and integrity. They mortgage the national integrity and dignity and bring about a disgrace for the Muslim countries and communities.

Manifestation of all this is evident in Pakistan. Opportunism, selfishness and incredibility of the rulers and politicians here have seldom ever proved them to be trustworthy. What is happening in Pakistan now is the worst example of disdain and shame for entire nation brought only by them. Induced by perfidy of the political leaders and rulers many other elements have taken the course of treacherousness. They have the price tags on their faces to be the cheapest items with the dishonour and indignity of the country. For his personal interests former military dictator, Parvez Musharaf, bowed to the American demands to be ‘front line ally in the war on terror’ a faceless war, real objective of that still a mystery. This was the fire burnt by the outsiders, actually our enemies, for their evil designs, the dictator avariciously and senselessly owned it keeping it burning with the fuel of our blood and precious national resources. After a huge loss of around 60 billion dollars and 30 thousands of innocent lives including about 5 thousands of our armed forces personals, still we are under a hard pressure of ‘do more’.

At first a revengeful reaction in the FATA areas was witnessed when our forces were made hit their own fellow countrymen. ‘Friend of the foe is our foe’ is an old dictum. It is an open fact that a large majority of the Pakistanis, including many in our armed forces consider the Americans and NATO forces our enemy. Naturally their sympathies were and still are with Taliban, and even with Al-Qaida. So far as the targeted people are concerned, thinking Pakistani forces friends of their enemy, they started revengefully making the Pakistani forces target of their smash and grab raids. Evils never remain barren. They grow and appear in many faces. Many other non-state actors sought the opportunity and entered the arena with their own objectives. Many of the hired agents of our enemies’ secret agencies, from our own ranks, have become the part of the combat which started as revengeful raids by those who were victims of the NATO and Pakistani forces attacks.

When the rulers have put the tag of ‘for sale’ on their foreheads and invited the bidders to purchase our sense of honor (ghairat) and national interests, a number of non-state actors also has attracted the bidders to purchase them at the price of their own choice. Now all those who are bent on harming stability and integrity of Pakistan hire a group of terrorists as their agent to damage whatever they can in our military installations and sensitive defence locations. A terror attack at PNA Mehran base Karachi is the most recent incident after Oct. 2009 incident of GHQ, Rawalpindi. But an awful feature of the harmful incidents is that after every happening of this nature the rulers and the military establishment start singing the same song taught them by their American lords ‘We will continue the war on terror’ till it reaches its end’.

Now there are clear indications that after Americans’ quit Afghanistan the ‘war on terror’ is fully going to be shifted in the cities and towns of Pakistan. Why? Actually considering the rise of the Muslim conscience and an uprising of the faithful Muslim sentiments a challenge for American hegemony, a crusade was started against the Muslim Ummah under false pretence of Al-Qaida and Taliban. Secondly, as a war liking country America had to find a combatant power for show of her cultural, economic and military supremacy in the world. Islam, in fact a religion, banner holder of peace, is America’s self-acclaimed rival. Thirdly, having a powerful and extremely influential Jews lobby, always very concerned about Israel’s subsistence, pressurizes the Americans to keep the Muslims subdued not letting any of the Muslim country rise as a challenging military and economic power. Pakistan military forces are the one of the best disciplined, trained and potential one in the world. So to them damaging its potentiality and dynamicity is necessary for them.
