We Reap What We Sow

The corrupt, greedy and coward leadership of most of the Muslim countries have made their people believe it impossible to live without the financial aid and support of the big powers, especially America at the top. Why it is so? Is the choice to live on beg alms of the foreign powers, in spite of countless bounties of Allah, SWT, not being doomed and cursed? What is there we have not of our own? A free and self sovereign homeland, full of abundant natural resources, fertile lands, green fields, vast plains, snow covered high mountains, flowing rivers, dashing seas, all the seasons, vigorous and hardworking manpower are munificence of our Lord. All the good things from not anywhere else but are from Allah: “And you have no good thing but is from ALLAH” (An-Nahl: 53)


He, as our Creator, Cherisher and Protector has the right to put conditions for bonus of peace, prosperity and copious means of living. True belief, piety and righteousness is required for proving the merit. But unfortunately, the leaders, politicians, military generals, bureaucrats, business community, and elite class of the Muslim societies are apprehensive of just thinking about anger of the Americans and remain free of the fear of wrath of Allah, the Most Powerful, the Most Exalted. They pay no heed to the conditions set by Him. So what happened in result of heedlessness?

“If the people of the towns had but believed and feared Allah, We should indeed have opened out to them (all kinds of) blessings from heavens and earth; but they rejected (the truth or meeting the terms) and We brought them to the book of their misdeeds.” (Al-A’raf: 96)

Despite this all what we have from the treasures of nature this heedlessness is because the Muslim communities have the choice not other than having excessively tough conditions, harming their national sovereignty and honor. In return of this aid they are immensely afflicted upon, getting made bound of many nasty and disagreeable terms. As givers they think it their right to put humiliating restrictions. The Muslim countries have to prove their credibility through abiding by the conditions set by them and also assure them the amount utilized in the areas of their choice and not of needs of the Muslim countries. They seduce the Muslims with the ‘carrots’ to be ‘good boys’ and threaten them of a tough action with the ‘stick’ if they fail to toe their line in taking care of their conditionalities. They want thanks and obedience more e than they grant.

Not only the disgrace brought by the powers, the Muslims are much more humble and loyal than Allah, the Most Benevolent but inflictions of Allah’s wrath by a lot of sufferings and trials, hunger, famine, scarcity of the basic needs, restlessness, chaos and tumult, lack of security of lives, properties and honour, bungling and mismanagement, lack of discipline and order, unreliable and corrupt leadership, all this is earning of our own. “Say to them: It is from yourselves.” (Al-Imran)

What polytheism in fact is? The greatest of all kinds of ‘shirk’ is leading a life contrary to the commandments of Allah, making Halal (lawful) what He has declared to be Haram (forbidden) and allowing all that is Haram to be done and permitted (Halal). Right of unconditional submission upon us is of only Allah, SWT, our Lord and not of anyone else. If wishes and demands of the powers other than our Creator are put above what is commanded by Allah, SWT, it is not but worship of Taghut (Satan, evil, and all who transgress the limits laid by Allah) while there are clear instructions for the Muslims to reject Taghut and show obedience to Allah, the Exalted.

There are generally two major motives for this kind of Shirk. Either this espousal is the result of man’s own wishes or this way is adopted for appeasing some powers thought super and great. This must not be deemed to be just a spiritual and mythic issue. This is the live fact easily observed in the policies of those who are unfortunately, at the helm of affairs of the Muslim communities. And in the result suicide bombing, rebellion against the system, loss of the writ of the authorities, ruin of the peace and financial crisis and a lot of more is exactly in accordance with the narration of the Quran:

“Say: “He (Allah) has the power to send calamities on you, from above and below, or to cover you with confusion in party strife, giving you a taste of mutual vengeance-each from other, see how We explain the Signs by various (symbols); that they may understand.” (Al-Anaam: 65)
