Almost all of the Muslim countries are ‘beggars’ in one way or the other. Even the countries having huge natural resources of oil and gas and have risen from rags to riches are not off the beggarly hook. In spite of their wealth and great infrastructural progress they are still weaker and turn to the bigger powers for their protection on very tough and abashing conditions, harming their national sovereignty and honour. The countries like Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bangla Desh and many others get foreign aid which remains only a little part of their annual budget, but are made bound of some nasty and disagreeable terms. Why? Because every giver has the right to put restrictions of his own choice on one who stretches his hand as a needy. Those who are in want are demanded to disgracefully bow to the givers. They have to prove their credibility through maximum chagrin. The areas and ways are fixed by those who provide financial aid where and how it is to be spent. While purchasing weapons from them they seduce us with ‘carrots’ to be ‘good boys’ and threaten us of tough action with ‘stick’ if we fail to toe their lines and take care of their conditionalities.
It is all in result of our being away from our Cherisher, Allah, the Most Generous and Most Merciful. Imagine how much in abundance He has showered His bounties upon us. We have our homelands with abundant natural resources, fertile lands, green fields, vast plains, high mountains covered with snow, flowing rivers dashing oceans, all the seasons, vigorous and hard working manpower. What is there which we don’t have? These are invaluable and inestimable benefactions of our Lord.
“And you have no good thing but from Allah.” (An-Nahl: 53)
He, as the Creator, Cherisher and Protector, has the right to put conditions for bonus of peace, prosperity and copious means of living. To Him, true belief of Monotheism, piety and righteousness is required for proving our merit. The more we bow to Him, more we are blessed and dignified. But as the nations, we the Muslim communities all over the world and our religious and political leaders, politicians, military generals, bureaucrats, businessmen and both elite and lower class of the society are apprehensive of just thinking about anger of the powers from whom we go to beg but remain free of the fear from wrath of Allah, the Most Exalted. We pay no heed to the conditions set by Him. So we face the consequences:
"If the people of the towns had but believed and feared Allah, We would indeed have opened out to them (all kinds of) blessings from the heaven and the earth; but they rejected (the truth and meeting the terms) and We seized them for what they were earning.” (Al- A’raf: 96)
Now all our misfortunes are the result of our own heedlessness. None other but we ourselves are responsible for all that is bad; our suffering and trials; hunger, famine, scarcity of the basic needs, restlessness, chaos and tumult, lack of security of lives, properties and honour, bungling and mismanagement, lack of discipline and order, mutual discord, unreliable and corrupt leadership and above all getting humiliated by those who are never our well wishers but we go to them begging aid from them.
“Say to them: It is from yourselves.” (Ale-Imran: 165)
In return of countless blessings bestowed upon us is that what our Lord demands from us more than the big powers of the world demand? Thankfulness and obedience; remembering and glorifying and adoring Him, setting our individual and collective lives in accordance with the commandments given by Him and keeping the system of our countries in consistency with the code of life given in the Quran and Sunnah of His messenger, be peace and blessings upon him is all what we have to show.
Our leaders shiver with fear of Taghut of our times and make us frightened. They not only convince us but force us to agree to their decisions of yielding to the demands of the powers which has taken place of our Lord. Then what more Shirk (polytheism) in fact is? The greatest kind of Shirk (joining others with Allah in His worship and obedience) is leading the life against the Will and commandments of Allah, making Halaal (lawful) what He has declared Haraam (forbidden) and allowing all that is Haraam to do. Right of unconditional submission upon us is of only our Lord, Allah and not of anyone else. If wishes and demands of the powers other than our Creator are put above what is commanded by Allah, SWT, it is not but worship of Taghut (Satan, all who transgress the limits set by Allah) while there are clear injunctions for the Muslims by their Lord to reject Taghut and show their loyalty to Allah alone.
This kind of attitude is either result of man’s own wishes or for appeasing some powers thought by him to be super and great. And above from the individual level it is none but those who are at the helm of our national affairs who think their being in power and remaining there for a long time is bestowal of the super powers of the world, so only they have to be submissively obeyed. When we are disconnected with Allah, SWT, we are subject to the inflictions, floods, earth quakes, suicide bombings, rebellion against the system, target killings by the drug, weapon and land mafias, loss of writ of the state, ruin of the peace, financial crisis and a lot of more exactly in accordance with the narration of the Quran:
Say: “He (Allah) has power to send calamities on you, from above and below, or to cover you with confusion in party strife, giving you taste the violence of one another. We explain the Signs that they may understand.” (Al-Anaam: 65)
