Allah's Blessings and Bounties

Allah, the Most Bountiful, the Most Gracious did not leave man on the face of earth as a helpless and destitute creature. Before Adam’s descent from the Heaven the Lord had brought countless things of his need into being on the earth. Man was bestowed upon with wisdom, creativity, physical fitness and energies, faculties of mind and senses within his self.

Huge supplies of food in different forms were there for him to eat and uncountable natural resources were put on his disposal to use. All the elements of nature and many of the cattle and pet animals were put in his service. Out of estimate mineral treasures were in the ground under his feet to discover and make avail of them. Cycle of the day and night, change of the seasons, blowing winds, running waters and light were for him to benefit and make his life comfortable and easy. Plants, hills and mountains and oceans also had a particular duty to work for man’s good.

“And if you would count the Favours of Allah, never could you be able to count them. Truly Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.” (An-Nahl: 18)

In Surah Ar-Rahman counting many of His gifts we find an iterate question by our Lord:

“Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you (both jinn and man) deny.”

But out of all innumerable bounties Guidance through the Messengers has been the greatest gift of Lord for mankind. Last, final and most tremendous gift is the Quran. Allah, SWT, has counted the Guidance of the Noble Quran to be His Blessing:

“…This day, I have perfected your religion for you, completed my Blessing (Gift, Favour) upon you and have chosen for you Islam as your religion…” (Al-Maidah: 3)

Now till the Day of Judgment, man’s success depends on to what extent he keeps on true guidance of the Holy Quran. Progress in the earthly life and deliverance in life Hereafter and also unity, unanimity and harmony of Muslim Ummah rests on following this guidance and showing his gratitude and esteem for it through bringing its teachings in practice.

Only holding fast this Rope of Allah (Quran), this gift, enmity of Aws and Khazraj was changed into brotherhood and only due to this a state of rapport got created between them, nevertheless they had been blood-thirsty of each other for a long time before Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah, be peace and blessings upon him, migrated from Makkah to Madinah (Yathrib). Reminding them of this fact the Quran says:

“And hold fast, all of you together, to the Rope of Allah (the Quran) and be not divided among yourselves, and remember Allah’s Favour (Deen and Quran) on you, for you were enemies one to another but He joined your hearts together, so that, by His Grace, you became brothers, and you were on the brink of a pit of Fire, and He saved you from it. Thus Allah makes His Ayat (signs and proofs) clear to you, that you may be guided.”(Aal-Imran: 103)
