Corruption is one of the major crimes causing a tremendous setback to the manly character. We find many hints in Islamic teachings in this case that the blood in the veins out of unlawful sustenance, makes a criminal, no matter how cruel and cunning he may be, psychologically extremely cowardly. He uses artifices and craftiness as camouflage. As it is commonly said that for covering one lie man has to forge a hundred lies, for covering one crime of corruption a morally vitiated person erects walls of deceitfulness around him to hide his heinous acts of corruption.
It is the case of almost all the ruling elites in the Muslim and many of the third world countries where there is no strong accountability system to make them answerable in the courts for their crimes. Public opinion has no weight where most of the people are illiterate, short of memory how they are subject to the tricky nature of the politicians and lack any sharp political and social sense. Beguiling them with charming promises for their future it is very easy to make the simplistic people forget all about the foxy natured rulers. That is why when they are criticized for their dishonesty we often hear them saying the final decision about their political fate rests on the ‘people’s court’ and not in the law courts.
We, here in Pakistan, have a president and prime minister and many of their ministers in the government as a token. They have ugly stinky taints of unethically amassed money and unlawfully increasing their fortunes. Even young generations of their families are sunk in the corruption to their neck. But they are too mulish and flagrant to surrender themselves to the courts. Very devilishly they dismiss everything under some pretext. They use both their trickeries and influence to keep them free from the noose of law. The highest courts now seem done in and weary of wicked attitude of the corrupt persons sitting in the top ruling posts.
Having their positions a great blockage in the deliverance of justice an ideological grounded state like Pakistan may cease to keep its justification of existence, because, as it is said a state under infidelity may last for long but under the system based on injustice, run by morally spoiled and corrupt rulers who are very selfishly digging holes in its roots to make it morally and ideological hollow, loses its substantial reason to survive.
Pakistan was founded to be a model Islamic state going to be ruled and run by a sincere, honest and selfless leadership, guaranteeing the people freedom, justice, equal rights for all the citizens, peace and prosperity, protection of lives, honor and properties in the light of the teachings of Islam. Only these are the substantial reasons for the survival of this ideological state. Loss of these reasons will put a big question mark on its persistence and only these dishonest, avaricious and unabashed elements who have chosen politics a means for plundering and making piles of wealth through corruption as their right, as one of the People's Party minister Qayyum Jatoi had said openly in a live TV Talk Show without any irk of conscience, will be responsible of this loss.
