It was a coercive situation for me to remain away from my
blog which I run with a missionary spirit. I was in contact with my family in
Pakistan when my brother’s health troubles after the wounds on his right foot
took turn for the worse. I decided to travel to Pakistan to be with him in the
moments of his physical anguish. Having no internet facilities there I got
disconnected with the world and it also caused a 32 days absence from my blog
which I always try my best to keep fresh and updated. During this time being
used to write on computer I employed my pen after a long time to write two
columns for a daily which wants me to write on the Arab World affairs. Even
watching TV was an unpalatable thing in painful atmosphere.
Human body is a naturally well-controlled machine with all
its parts wisely perfected and systematically put in work. It is, as Allah SWT,
Himself said, created in the best stature, is such a matchless crafty plan of
the Creator that no man-made machine is there to make proper comparison with
it. The components of machines work only for a particular purpose the machine
is made for while every part of human body serves to fulfill the ‘Plans of
Nature’ and answer the Call of the Maker to accomplish the scheme man is
created for.
Though Allah ‘burdens not a person beyond his scope’
(Al-Baqarah: 286) and some people we see walking here and there with the loss
of some part of their bodies will not be held accountable for the task which
they had to do if they had not lost the capability of doing yet getting enfeebled
or becoming unfit for doing something bigger to achieve what they were created
for is in some way a ‘bad luck’ for them.
Neither from the inorganic matters nor from botanical and
animal groups there is any deemed to aimlessly brought into being. When a true
believer casts a look on any creature he artlessly and unpretentiously proclaims:
“Our Lord! You have not created all this without purpose, glory to You. Give us
salvation from the torment of Fire.” (Aal-Imran: 119) Allah SWT says:“Do they
not think deeply about themselves? Allah has created not the heavens and the
earth, and all that is between them except truth (true purpose) and for an
appointed time.” (Ar-Rum: 8)
Man has much farther lofty purpose of life. Not a single
part of his body, may it be larger or smaller, is there without a duty. Loss of
any part not only makes man live a difficult and an unsmooth life, but also
makes him unable to fulfill his lofty purpose of life.
My younger brother, a
diabetic, first got some scratches on upper part of his right foot and a little
after something pierced in its sole. He cared a little to get proper treatment
at the proper time. The matter was taken as serious only when pus started
oozing from the wound. Treatment was started after it was enough late.
Home-made conventional prescriptions were tried and then homeopathic and
allopathic methods were applied to treat the wounds. The foot was concurrently three times
operated but with no improvement. He suffered severe and sometime really
intolerable pains for above three months. Apart from the pains of wounds he had
to suffer the torment of around 700 injections from his finger tips to the
shoulders, at the back and on belly, from toes to the hips. Whole of his body
got bruised with injection needles.
The doctors in Military Hospital and Combined Military
Hospital Rawalpindi and in some private hospitals seemed agreed only on
amputation of the leg from a little below the knee because three open wounds
had internally grown above his ankle. Though it was difficult for all to accept
the proposal of the doctors but making his children convinced for getting their
father with almost half of his one leg cut off was really far more than
difficult. After all they became ready for this unpleasant thing proving
heavily painful for them.
My brother lived an active and vigorous life till he fell on
the bed with his foot having wounds on all sides of his foot. His children
tirelessly nursed him since the suffering started. They all are dutiful and
sincere and not expected to ignore him after his leg has been amputated. But
the thought of a lethargic life after loss of lower half of his leg makes him
extremely grief-stricken.
But absconding from the Decisions of Allah, All-Mighty is
impossible for man. A true believer has his Faith that there is no flee from
the Will of God and man is bound to accept what has been ordained by his Lord.
We fail to fathom the Wisdom of Allah, the Most Exalted, hidden in the agonies
and afflictions we often suffer in our lives. Accepting what is destined for a
believer is true spirit of Faith. May Allah keep us in His protection from all
sufferings and give us courage and patience if something offensive and nasty
befalls us. In this case nothing else but only Belief in Allah, SWT becomes
source of power for man. May Allah grant us protection from all types of
troubles and tribulations and give us power of Faith.
