Our Holy Prophet, SAW, Being Sectarian-ised

It was the congregation for Jumah prayer and the Imam, the man who was going to lead the congregational prayer, seemed avid for getting the gathering swayed of his inflammatory speech. The topic chosen for the address was Al-Isra Wal-Me’raj, the unique journey of our Holy Prophet, SAW, to above the heavens. Muhammad, be peace and blessings of Allah upon him, is matchless in his whole ‘community’ of the Prophets, getting elevated to such an extraordinary heights. He was called to make the journey above the seven heavens to be especially and uniquely blessed. Apart from this the individuality, Muhammad, be peace and blessings of Allah upon him, was distinct in his perfectness in his moral character. Due to that he was declared a role model for not only the Muslims but entire mankind. We, as Muslims, are bound to follow his footsteps and bring maximum reflection of his moral qualities in our moral characters.

Though Al-Isra Wal-Me’raj, in its natural was entirely unusual and supernatural journey yet it has a lot to learn and practice in our daily life. Apart from a call to develop a deep and abiding affection for Allah, the Exalted, and believe that the Messenger, SAW, had the honour of singleness in this case, there are many lessons in it to set our earthly life aright and to guide the Muslims morally rise high, develop a sense of responsibility, improve the quality of modesty, prevent ourselves from earning through unlawful means and avoiding from taking the wealth and property of the orphans unjustly and wrongfully. It has warnings in it not to eat the money earned through interest. It has a strong disapproval for the religious and political leaders who make mischievous speeches causing mutual differences, ideological confusions and social disorder.

We are greatly enraptured to listen more and more about the events of Al-Isra Wal-Me’raj, and our religious leaders are more eager to push us deep into ecstasies than letting us learn the Prophet’s moral excellence. Supernatural events always remain the interest of our religious leaders and most of them portray the Holy Prophet, SAW, a personality having links with the heavens more than we, the human beings, living on the face of earth. His being ‘Uswah-e-Hasanah’ (the best model of the moral character) catches a little importance and the Jumah congregation this piece of writing was started to point to was not different. The speaker narrated many unauthentic and fabricated stories to make his sectarian case strong through the account of incident of Al-Isra Wal-Me’raj but he seemed reluctant to mention any example of the lofty character of our Holy Prophet, be peace and blessings of Allah upon him, and tell his audience what are the teachings of the Prophet, SAW, about unity among the Muslims, earning and eating Halal, abandoning every type of Haraam, mutual love and cooperation, turning to the Quran and his teachings for guidance. This is why morally and spiritually we are going down and sectarianism frenzy is growing day by day.

What the leader of the congregation was bent on proving was that during the Prophet's journey from Masjide Haraam to Masjide Aqsa, he visited the grave of the Prophet Musa (AS), thus visiting the shrines and tombs of the saints is sunnah of the Prophet, SAW, and while visiting the grave of Musa (AS) he saw Musa (AS) in standing position and heard him uttering the words 'Assalamo Wassalat Alaika Ya Rasoolullah' and it means that following Musa (AS) it is our obligation to do the same. Very interestingly, none of his 'findings' were presented with reference to any reliable Hadith of the Messenger of Allah, be peace and blessings upon him.
