All are Collectively Responsible for the Torment

No peace and stability is expected in a society where the people are used to brooking the cruelty with no effort to block it with a strong voice of opposition. This cowardly nature is itself another misdemeanor, equal to supporting the felonious acts of the criminal elements.
In Pakistan, guru of the previous regime, Parvez Musharaf, the military dictator who stayed in power after he had bowed to the demands of the Americans to be the first row ally in the war against terror on only a mid-night threatening call of Colin Powell, then the American Secretary of the State in Bush administration. He had grabbed the power from an elected prime minister. The nation silently tolerated this bare unethical and unconstitutional step of the Chief of Army Staff.
Unlawful rule of Musharaf went on for 8 years. He over ambitiously tried to stay more with the help of his patron, America and two of the Arab countries. In hunger of power he hatched a conspiracy to trap the main opposition leader, Benazir Bhutto, the slain chairperson of PPP. National Reconciliation Ordinance was issued for remission and reprieve of Benazir Bhutto from all the corruption charges against her. Her spouse and mother, with dozens of other politicians, businessmen, bureaucrats and military officials who had plundered trillions of rupees and had serious cases against them in the courts were also pardoned. The nation not only digested the filthy document of NRO with no big sign of disapproval but elected the same criminals to make governments in Sindh, KPK and Balochastan with the help of other unscrupulous elements. It was tantamount to endorse the NRO.
Then all the three allies in the federal and provincial governments of Sindh, Khaiber Pakhtunkhawah and Balochastan started a new game of corruption. All the fraudulent were chosen to take charge at key posts in bureaucracy. Almost every department and institution under the government has the taints of corruption on its name. Even the people of minister level could not remain without the stains of making money through Hajj, one of the most sacred acts of Ibadah. National Airline, railway, steel mill and many other important fields are at the brink of collapse. The people connived at all these evils.
Karachi, the largest city, economical capital and second biggest cultural center of the country, which once accommodated a large number of the renowned poets, famous writers and great religious and political leaders came in the grip of a callous group mysteriously raised to snatch the city from influential religious parties. The religious parties, in spite of their weaknesses, but with less credibility gap between their election pledges and policies, lost the control of this illuminated city. The city with highest number of the educated people is now hostage to the agenda of this group. The intellectuals, poets, teachers, religious and political leaders are stuck dumb while they need to voice up loudly against the culprits who have damaged the high credit of this city by all kind of criminal activities.
The immoral document of NRO had guaranteed immunity to the leaders and activists of this group who had 8000 criminal cases including murder charges against them. The leader of the group is living self-exiled life in London and the system is run through remote control from abroad. Target killing, extortions, abductions and robberies have become the ugly culture of this city and all the finger points go to this group for this hideous game. The people in this city are helpless and have been longing for peace and security of lives, honour and properties since emerge of this group. Sustainability of the federal governments of Nawaz Sharif, Musharaf or PPP all remained in want of winning over this group on its mischievous terms. Thus the city having the population around 15 million has constantly been bedeviled by this group for last over two decades.
Really Evil Spell! Pakistan’s armed forces are entangled in a sabotaging game of fighting against their own people as the partners in the American war against terror, which has made not only two provinces neighboring Afghanistan but whole of the country crippled because of subversive activities in reply of army actions.
Who is responsible of this unwholesome situation? Our military chief, then right hand of Musharaf, helped him in creating the contaminated circumstances, by brokering the evil deal between Musharaf and late Benazir. Musharaf’s popularity at that time was at the lowest level. A stormy movement for restoration of judiciary had badly weakened his position but America still wanted him in power to take much more advantage of his unconditional support in its devastative war. Two of the Arab states, having brotherly relations with Pakistan, played the role of guarantors in the deal.
And the people of Pakistan, bringing already tested elements in power through their votes are themselves responsible of their miseries. The political and religious parties repeatedly vowing not to let derail the system are not absolved of the blame to allow the present regime push the country to the last edge of disaster. Slow process and delay in delivering the verdicts by the judiciary, which got a new life in result of unprecedented support of the people for its reinstatement, has done no good for deliverance of the people. So judiciary also has responsibility in giving a long rope to the elements in the power making the country degenerate. All have a little or more role in bringing this torment to the people of Pakistan.
