Egypt to produce Documentary Film on Prophet Muhammad, SAW

A Note by the Blog's Editor:

Though the rage expressed in the rallies and huge gatherings demonstrating against the trash in the blasphemous movie and nauseating cartoons published by a French magazine is a natural thing because tolerating such things is the most difficult for a sincere Muslim, but what actually has to be done in response of provocative moves of the Western media, intelligentsia and politicians is that which Egyptian Information Ministry has planned to do. The Ministry officials have a plan to come up with a documentary portraying the Messenger of Allah, Muhammad, be peace and blessings upon him, as a unique model for mankind.

Muslim organizations and Islamic Movements should guide their activists to a positive direction of doing something exemplary for introducing the Holy Prophet, SAW, a role model for entire mankind. Damaging the public and private properties of their own countries is in no way serving the Cause they are out for.

One of the many evil and mischievous aims of the immensely irritating acts of the Western media, insulting Muhammad, SAW, the greatest man born on the face of earth, is to push the Muslim communities to a sick attitude. We have to prove that what a unpleasant circumstances there may be, the followers of Muhammad, be peace and blessings upon him, are not ready to lose not their dignity and refined manners.

In response to the recent crises sparked in the region by the now-notorious anti-Islam short film, Information Minister Salah Abdel-Maksoud and film director Shoukry Abu Amira, vice president of the Egyptian Radio and Television Union (ERTU), have agreed to produce a major documentary film on the life of Prophet Mohamed.
The film – to be entitled 'Mohamed: Messenger of God, Gift of Mercy' – will be directed by Egypt's Samiha El-Ghonemy, one of the Arab world's most prominent documentary filmmakers. El-Ghonemy has directed religious-themed films in the past, including 'The Holy Family's Journey in Egypt.'
A handful of scholars from Egypt's Al-Azhar are already reportedly working on a screenplay for the film, which will be jointly produced by the Egyptian Cinema Syndicate and the ERTU.
Members of the syndicate are also reportedly mulling production of a feature film portraying the life of the Prophet.
