I have been reading your articles through weekly letters through your blog spot. The latest one, the Two closely Founded States very correctly focuses on Pakistan and Israel as all together different ideological states. It is interesting to read that theodr Herzl, the founder of political Zionism, had no plan of establishing a state of the Jews in Palestine and that Argentina was his goal to be the homeland for the Jews. It was Arthur Balfour, the British foreign secretary who was a great Muslim hater and created a Jewish state in the heart of the Muslim world, as an evil design. The Britishers have a long history of betraying Muslims. Just see what they did with the case of IHK, a source of constant conflict between India and Pakistan. Even when the partition idea was accepted, they tried very hard not to divide the Indian Army. Imagine Pakistan with no armed forces of its own. Attlee, the then British PM was also supporting the idea. It was Liaquat Ali Khan, who worked very hard and Mr. Jinnah forced it upon the British and the Congress to divide the Indian Army. In other words, the British have left a legacy of mistrust between the two independent nations.
You are very right. The ideology of Pakistan, as clearly conveyed in the Objective Resolution that Pakistan will have equal rights for its citizen. Separating religion and state has an evil intention to keep morality out of the affairs of the state. Mr. Jinnah and Allama Iqbal did not want that kind of secularism Deen carries the essential elements of justice and equality which is different from mazhab.
I really enjoy reading your articles. You have put Pakistan’s perspective in very clear terms.
Yours Sincerely
General Mirza Aslam Beg
