Shaping the Rest of the Century!

I had very short time to travel with him but really I have had only a few chances of meeting such a genteel young men. His edification was evident from his way of talking. He was from Khyber Agency of FATA. Subject of our conversation was present role of our armed forces in tribal areas.

The number of the army men ventured in the ongoing so-called ‘War Against Terror’ is touching almost 100000 and it is taking unprecedented and appalling toll of lives of our soldiers and officers, excessively more than our loss of lives in any of the wars with our perpetual enemy, India. But before I had completed my sentences the young man very politely and painfully uttered the words saying: “ Uncle! Believe me, if it had been the matter of some wayward and misguided tribal youths only two to three thousand soldiers of Pakistan army would have been enough to quell their rebellious rise-up. Actually our forces have a multi dimensional encounter.”

I had a quite understanding what he had in mind even then searchingly I requested him to be open what he meant. “Our forces are combating with India, Israel and America at a time. Intelligence agencies of all these countries are busy to dig the pits for us. They have hired the rogue elements from tribal areas and also a number of non-state actors from Central Asia and fugitives from some Arab countries harboring there. To fulfill their evil designs totally unchecked forces like ‘Black Water’ are also active there. Huge supplies of sophisticated weapons are in their hands. They are neither in short of money nor huge supplies of the modern weapons to fight a sustained war. This is the biggest reason of our heavy loss there.”

It was not a big revelation for me. Since the phenomenal role of Jehadi movement and the part indirectly played by Pakistan military forces in Afghan war against Russia became evident entire world seemed to be startled. What America could not gain within half a century through its piles of deadly weaponry, high flow of dollars, strenuous efforts of it intelligence agencies and a lot of conspiracies to make its rival super power Russia humbled, Jehadi movement with the help of Pakistan did it within years. Pakistan and Jehadis’ pivotal role in collapse of communist system and kneeling down of Russia had caused ringing warning bells in the west and particularly in America. Their political and military hawks, weapon industries and some media giants had drawn the other lines. They needed to create a new ‘enemy’ to take position of communist Russia. Former president Richard Nixon had expressed his speculative opinions in his books about Islam to be the greatest challenge for USA and the West. The theory of ‘The Clash of the Civilizations’ was nothing else but Islam a threat to the western civilization. And they very cunningly made their people convinced that the clash was inevitable.

Their ‘Think Tanks’ were preoccupied with how to deal with newly invented enemy. As I had mentioned in my book ‘Asr-e-Hazir Ki Islami Tehreeken…’ almost 20 years ago, 121 seminars and conferences were held to discuss how to dispose of the danger of growing Islamic Resurgence only during the five years period of 1983 to 1988. We can imagine the level of exertion and profundity of their intellectuals and political forces in this case since 1988 up today. The danger signals then started, as I had referred in my book, by Sunday Times of England and Le Monde of France are now docket of all the media giants in the west.

Despite the fact that America had fully backed the Jehadi movement against Russia but still deep innermost worries had arisen in Washington and other capitals of the west. And only then secret plans had not only started to distract this movement, push it on entire antagonistic way and brandish Islamic Jehad as saboteurs but also to futile Pakistan as an honorable Muslim state. The script regarding the future of Pakistan has got rewritten and the role for the characters in the light of the latest script has been fixed and allotted to them within Pakistan and around it.

Latest statement (June 6) of Hillary Clinton, the American secretary of the state, has a lot for us in it to contemplate. She said: “India and US will shape the rest of this century.” Making Pakistan too weak to play any weighty role in future and blockade of Islam is the major point of the agenda to ‘shape the rest of this century’. Al Qaeda and Taleban are the covering names for dozens of the dirty players carrying on the nauseating and subversive acts in tribal areas and in the cities and towns of the country. Thus the rest of the century is being shaped.
